Services

  • Individual counseling

I offer in-person and telehealth individual counseling services to adults 18 and older. Working collaboratively with you, I tailor different treatments and techniques to help you address your specific concerns and find ways to help create the changes you want to see. My specialties include helping people who have experienced trauma as well as people experiencing symptoms from anxiety and/or panic attacks, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, substance use and addiction, and overall life dissatisfaction. Read the section “Is therapy for me?” on the FAQs page for more details.

  • Cost & Insurance

    Self-pay sessions start at $125.00.

I am currently able to accept some insurance plans. Check your specific coverage and costs here: Insurance Verification

If your insurance is out-of-network, I can provide a receipt (superbill) upon request that you can submit to your insurance company. Depending on your insurance and benefits for out-of-network providers, you may be reimbursed by your insurance company for a portion of the costs.

  • Treatment Approach

Therapy is often a time when people feel incredibly vulnerable so my intention each session is to create a safe, open, collaborative, non-judgmental experience for you using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach. That means we’ll focus on you as a person and not just on fixing the problem. We can miss opportunities for introspection and growth when all we look at are the symptoms to fix instead of you as a person who is experiencing these things. Many people benefit from the use of a variety of treatment modalities and approaches depending on each person’s unique needs and preferences. Some frequently utilized approaches include:

    • cognitive-behavioral techniques to change unwanted, unhelpful, or ineffective patterns and irrational thoughts

    • motivational interviewing to help encourage change and create new behaviors, address feeling stuck or unmotivated, and reduce substance use

    • dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to increase emotional stability and tolerance to distressing situations, reduce episodes of self-harm and suicidal behaviors, improve self-esteem, and improve interpersonal skills to promote healthier and more positive relationships

    • trauma-informed care to increase sense of physical and emotional safety, provide education and information, and explore impacts on current and past self

    • mindfulness practices to increase sense of satisfaction and feeling present and aware, reduce anxiety and stress, and increase insight about ourselves and others
